1. No more than 2 dead links or images or you are automatically disqualified. Pride in your creations and accomplishments is very important! It doesn't hurt to check it often and keep things up and running!
2. You must offer more to me than just a page of links. When I visit your pages I want something that makes me go for the bookmark button! I want CONTENT!
3. NO using someone else's bandwidth!
If I find that you are, it is an automatic disqualification. Link
Exchange, counters, guestbooks, etc.. do not fall into this category. If
you are using a single person's bandwidth with permission, I must see
it in writing on your page somewhere.
4.Signing one of my guestbooks greatly improves your chances. When I surf the web I usually start my trip from my guestbooks. These are located on my front pages or at the end of the poetry section.
5. I MUST be able to read the text. If your backgrounds interfere don't apply. I cannot award a page that isn't clearly readable.
6. Graphics. If I end up waiting more than 5 minutes for pages to load, it should be WELL worth the wait. And as for java or frames, I don't really care for either but of course it depends on how you use them. A no frames version is greatly appreciated. If done correctly. Please, not too many animated gifs unless they enhance rather than detract from your work.
7. Absolutely NO under construction gifs or jpgs. Everyone knows that pages are always under construction or that they should be.
8. The page must at least have been updated within the last two months. I will be looking at your HTML.
9. Your pages must be easy to get around in. Don't leave me stuck out in left field with no way to get back to the beginning of your pages.
10. Tell me why you think you deserve this award. A brief description plus a correct email address, a correct URL, and modicum of politeness and respect for my time and effort. I would do the same for you.
Remember this is my award and I can and will give to those that I believe will appreciate them. It ends up being my choice, my tastes. Please don't feel put off by the long list. I am a very openminded individual and variety is the spice of life. Please no adult oriented or business sites need apply.
